Present: Lou Trostel, Lynne Grettum, Paul Constantino, Andy Brown

Meeting was called to order by the Chairman Lynne Grettum at 7:20 pm in the Town Hall meeting room.

Cemetery Operations

Burials – Full burials - None.  One cremation burial.

Lot Sales – 17 lots were sold.

The large tree in Parker it was suggested could be cabled. A comprehensive multiyear plan for all the cemeteries for tree care and replacement should be developed.
The fertilizer previously discussed has been applied to the “needy” area at Woodlawn.
The desired revised job description for Jamie has been worked out successfully with the town.

Rules and Regulations

The need for more comprehensive rules and regulations was felt by the Superintendent in light of a number of requests by several families. The commission discussed a number of suggested additions drawn from regulations in a number of surrounding towns.


Monuments
Several regulations about monuments were discussed as follows.
Monuments must not exceed 50% of the width of a lot.
The design of monuments, markers and bases must be approved by the Superintendent.
For single lots, the monuments must not exceed 20” in width.
Only flat markers are allowed on cremation lots.
A single monument on multi-lots must not exceed 50% of the total width of the lots.
All present voted in favor of these regulations.

Plantings
Only one flower bed is permitted on a monument lots. It should be located in front of the monument and may not be more than one foot wide at the face of the monument.
Marble chips, other stone landscaping or wood chips are not allowed. Concrete, brick or other types of stone curbing or edging block are not allowed.
The placing of lights, boxes, shells, toys, metal designs, ornaments, chairs, settees, vases, glass, wood, crockery or iron cases upon plots shall not be permitted. If so placed, the cemetery reserves the right to remove the same.
No in-ground planting is allowed on flat marker plots
All present voted in favor of these regulations

Shrubs must occupy 5% or less of the plot.
Shrubs must be no higher than the monument and must be contained within the lines of the plot.
Flowers and shrubs must be maintained by the owners of the plot.

Further discussion of shrubs should continue at our November 16 meeting.

We agreed we should install lights on the flagpole in West Cemetery.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 pm
